A “simple” question for evolutionists November 16, 2007

The “theory of evolution” is still just that–a mere theory. Even though many people seem to want to overlook or forget that part of evolution, the fact is that the “theory” of evolution is still only a theory–and a false one at that. Thus, it is still an unproved hypothesis: it is not a fact.

Here is a “simple” question which evolutionists cannot answer:

Which was first on earth–A Woman or a Human Baby?

Now that is a question over which to mull for awhile!

This question, though seemingly simple, is devastating to the evolutionist’s view. The creationist has no problem with the question. The problem of the origin of man is not a scientific question, but is rather a philosophical and/or revelational problem.

Xenophobia November 15, 2007

“Xenophobia” (pronounced as if the “x” is a “z”) is defined by Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary as: “fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange or foreign.” In my lifetime and experience (and I have traveled around the world and lived both in and out of the USA) I have noticed that there are people in most all cultures and nations who have this fear or hatred of others. This is not solely a matter that occurs in the United States. It happens everywhere.

This prejudice or hatred usually lasts as long as those who maintain it, or promote it, refuse or fail to be active in trying to become acquainted with or knowing well, those who are not like themselves. Sometimes this hatred or fear exists because one does not have the love of God in his heart. When people have the courage and human decency to appreciate that good qualities exist among all peoples, nations, and races, much prejudice and fear will cease. When the prejudice, fear, and hatred cease, and people begin to respect one another, the desire for war and oppression declines.

Prejudice is a trait that is taught. Children who hate or fight against children who are unlike themselves racially, ethnically, or in other ways, are usually taught negatively about such folk. A group, a race, or skin-color is lumped into the same category by a parent or someone else, and denigrated to the child. The child grows up hating the other race, culture, or skin-color, but has no reason why he hates them. He follows what he was taught. So, the prejudice and hatred is perpetuated.

How do we stop such senseless hatred of our fellowman? Educate people properly, correctly. Show how to respect and appreciate the innate value or worth of all peoples. Understand and appreciate the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man.

” …He gives to all life, breath, and all things…. “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, …for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’” – Acts 17:25-29.

“Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. “But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. “The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ–He is Lord of all–” — Acts 10:34-36.

“But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you: for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another.” — 1 Thess. 4:9.

“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” — 1 John 4:11.

Who cares who Pat Robertson endorses? Pat Robertson has never had a positive influence on me religiously or politically. He lost his influence with others many years ago! Pat Robertson does not speak for me, nor does he represent me. I am a Christian, but I do not follow Pat Robertson. In fact, many of Robertson’s religious beliefs and practices are not according to Scripture. If he can be wrong religiously, he can be wrong politically.

Did you read about the King of Spain, Juan Carlos, telling Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez to “shut up” at the Ibero-American Summit? It’s about time someone told him to clam up! I guess a king can get by with it. Anyone else would probably be “dealt with.” I love it! :-)

This is a true story.

Many years ago a lady in a rural area saw a man driving down the road in an old pick-up truck. As she looked more closely, she saw a German Shepherd dog in the back of the truck. She exclaimed in sincere, sympathetic awe: “Oh, look at that poor blind man! He’s driving with a seeing-eye dog!” Well, everyone nearly fell out with laughter. She never understood what was so funny. :-)

One must give Oprah Winfrey credit for wanting to help the South African girls. And, even greater credit should be give to her for being pro-active in getting to the heart of the problem in the school. I admire her honesty and diligence about the matter. What happened was not her fault. I also think that one cannot leave everything in the hands of people overseas. Many Americans do not understand that third world nations, emerging nations, and other cultures are not like the USA. In most cases, where one has invested time and money in a foreign enterprise, one must be more “hands on” or the thing will get out-of-hand very quickly.

Duane “Dog” Chapman should not have said the “n” word; that is without question. He is trying to overcome the problem, and I believe he is trying honestly and sincerely to do so. But, in my opinion, his son was guilty of the greater sin in this case. The immature, vengeful attitude of his son is seen in the betrayal of his father for “30 pieces of silver.” What a shame. To betray one who loves you and who seeks only your own good is gross ingratitude and low-down.

Welcome to my blog!

I believe that many problems can be solved with the proper use of hermeneutics (correct application of the principles of Biblical interpretation) of God’s word, the Bible. This blog will be used to comment on all kinds of things–current events and issues, world problems, social problems, moral problems, religious problems, political problems and questions. We will try to apply God’s word, the Bible, to see if we can provide some answers or solutions to some of the problems that beset our world.

I don’t have all the answers and do not make that claim. That would be terribly presumptuous of me. But, we may be able to apply some principles that point us in the right direction. I believe that there is a definite, set body of objective truth that is unalterable–a standard of right and wrong–the which if one properly applies to his life, he will find salvation, happiness, and solutions to man’s biggest and most besetting problems. Man’s biggest problem is sin. It is sin that separates man from God, and brings destruction, unhappiness, and spiritual death. The only way to overcome all these problems is to seek the Lord and follow His way. Man cannot do this alone. He needs God’s guidance. So, His word is the standard.

“Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear”–Isaiah 59:1-2.

“O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps”–Jeremiah 10:23.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path”–Psalm 119:105.

“It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’”–(Jesus) Matthew 4:4.

“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth”–(Jesus) John 17:17.

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”–(Jesus) John 8:32.

Let’s see just how things will work out. Thanks for coming around; and, I hope you return. :-)
